Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2024 Volkswagen Atlas- Video

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2024 Volkswagen Atlas and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the CURT 4-Pole Trailer Wiring Harness. Adding a 4-pole to the back of your Atlas is gonna help you to be able to pull trailers. This is gonna transfer the lighting signal safely to the taillights on your trailer so that it lets others know what your intentions are on the road. Now, if you're wanting to eventually install a 7-pole on your vehicle so that you have brakes to be able to pull a trailer with brakes, you're gonna have to start with a 4-pole kit first and then you can upgrade to a universal wiring kit that we have on our website. You can combine that with this kit and that'll get you both 4 and 7-pole on the back of your Atlas. more

Curt Powered Tail Light Converter Installation - 2016 Volkswagen GTI- Video

Rob: Hey everybody, Rob here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter Wiring Kit on our 2016 Volkswagen GTI.Now, our Curt wiring is going to provide us with a four-pole flat trailer connector so we have all the required lights to get down the road safely, like our tail lights, our turn signals and our stoplights. Now it does come with a dust cover, which is nice to keep all that dirt and debris out of the connector. However, our wiring is meant to stay on the inside until we're ready to use it. You can see I have my wiring draped out the back of the hatch, and if we open it up, our wiring can easily store right underneath by our spare tire. Now, I know a lot of people are worried about the wiring getting damaged, but you can see there's plenty of cushion on that weatherstripping there. The wire's not going to get damaged even over time. more

Today in our 2017 Volkswagen Golf we'll be having a look at and installing the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with Four-pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number C59236. Here's what our wiring looks like installed. Now our wiring is designed to be stored inside our vehicle when it's not in use. One of the reasons you're gonna want this converter style that you have to splice in over other options available on the market is many Volkswagen Golf's on the market use poles with modulated wiring in their tail light systems, which are not compatible with many plug-and-play options. Now we'll show you how to get it installed. To begin our install we'll open our rear hatch. Now we'll take out all of our floor coverings. And to make it easier to see, we'll take out our cargo cover here. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2012 Volkswagen Tiguan- Video

Today on our 2012 Volkswagen Tiguan, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T1 vehicle wiring harness with floor pull flat trailer connector, part number 118675. When we're ready to hitch up out trailer, we can take our floor flat connector that's going to be stored away in this pocket on the passenger side of our vehicle. We'll lay it across the back of the vehicle, across the weather stripping. You just want to make sure you keep away from the center here so that we don't pinch it into the latch and then just close our hatch down on top of it and plug it into our trailer and then when we're done, we simply open it back up. We'll take our wire and we'll just kind of bunch it up and we can take our weather tight tap and use it to capture our wiring and keep it nicely tucked away. Now it's a nice little package we can put down inside the back here. Reinstall our cover and it's all completely hidden away. That's what our kit's going to consist of. more

Today on our 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan we're going to be taking a look at and installing the T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number 118675. When you're ready to use your trailer plug you just take it out of your side pocket here and lay it over top of our sill plate, making sure to keep it away from the latch part of it. We can close our door down on top of it and plug it into our trailer. When you're all done you'll open it back up and fold it away. You just take your excess, take your weather proof cap, put it around the outside, plug it up and set it in here until we're ready to use it again. It's all completely kept away from the elements. Today on our Volkswagen Ratton, we'll be installing part number 118490, the T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pull Flat Trailer Connector. Now let's send it down to Jared and have him get started.Jared: Go ahead and take our T30 torx bit drive and remove the 2 fasteners located on the driver side. Go ahead and pull the tail light assembly out and back, locate the manufacturer harness and disconnect it. You'll need to pull out on the safety tab first then press the back pin in the center. Once you do so you'll be able to pull the manufacturing wiring harness straight off. Now I'll go ahead and sit our tail light assembly off to the side for installation later. Now we will take our T1 connector, go ahead and plug in our wiring harness with the male end into the female end of the manufacturing harness. more

Today on our 2010 Volkswagen Touareg, we're going to show you how to install the Tow Ready T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part number is 118509. Now, when not in use we can store this right down here out of the way, we won't have to worry about it. When we do want to use it all we have to do is bring it out, pull out whatever length we're going to need to make the connection with our trailer, or bike rack, or cargo carrier, allow it to drape right over here and you can see we've got a nice cushion right here. We won't have to worry about that doing any damage to our wires. Now we do want to avoid the striker area right here in the middle so it doesn't get pinched. You can see that's going to come out, easily connected when we're done, open the hatch and coil that wire back up. I'll show you a little tip to keep it all together. more

A few features about this wiring harness, it provides a four-pole flat trailer connector for the vehicle. It's relatively easy with no cutting or splicing or taping into the factory wires of the vehicle. TowReady Taillight Converter Hardwire Kit Installation - 2003 Volkswagen Passat- Video

Today on our 2003 Volkswagen Passat wagon we're going to be installing the Tow-Ready upgraded circuit-protected taillight converter hard wire kit, part number 119178KIT. To begin our installation we'll need to first raise the rear hatch of the vehicle. Next we're going to need to go ahead and open up the access panel on both the driver and the passenger side to gain access to the taillight wiring. This right here is the bundle of wires that we're looking for. Over here on the driver side right here is the bundle of wires that we're looking for. Next we're going to go ahead and take our test light here. We've connected the other end, which is the ground, to a screw that's up in here. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2011 Volkswagen Routan- Video

Today on our 2011 Volkswagen Routan we will be installing the Tow Ready T-One connector trailer wiring, part number 118490. Now on this particular vehicle the cover has some slots in it and we we're able to fish the wire through it and then pull enough length out to reach the center of our hatch area to make the connections as if we we're connecting to a trailer. You will notice the weather trim is soft enough that the wires will not be crushed, but you want to keep it away from the center latch area so that you do not damage the wires when the rear hatch is closed. Now we'll go ahead and close it and show you what it looks like. Now we'll open it back up and we'll show you how the wire is stored. You can actually store the extra length in this compartment area, keeping it out of your way and from being damaged. To begin with we will raise the rear hatch. more

TowReady Taillight Converter Hardwire Kit Installation - 2005 Volkswagen Passat- Video

Today on our 2005 Volkswagen Passat, we'll be installing the Tow Ready Circuit Protected 4-Pole Wiring kit, part number 119178KIT. To begin our install, we'll first remove the vehicle's spare tire cover. Set aside and then we're going to remove the rear threshold. To remove the rear threshold, there are multiple fasteners along the bottom and two cargo hooks with fasteners to remove. Once we remove these fasteners, we'll get underneath the threshold with a flat blade screwdriver or interior trim panel tool and pop the fasteners free underneath. Now with all of our fasteners free we'll go ahead and remove the rear threshold and set it aside. Next to access the wiring on the driver's side, we'll open up the rear storage compartment and then we'll move over to the passenger's side where we'll fold back the carpeting and this will allow us access to the passenger's side wiring. We'll go ahead and back probe the taillight connectors starting here on the driver's side, the green wire going into the vertical connector as our running light circuit. more

Today, on this 2014 Volkswagen Jetta, we are going to install part number 118572 from Tow Ready. The first thing were going to do is go ahead and get in the trunk and get access to our tail lights. Our wire is going to be located back here but we have to loosen up all these panels to get access to them. First off, well go and take away our floor coverings. Next, well go ahead and remove our threshold. Well pull our sill back and using basically a plastic pry bar, well go ahead and pop the fasteners loose underneath. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2009 Volkwagen Jetta- Video

Today in our 2009 Volkswagen Jetta, well be installing the Tow Ready T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Connector, part number 118531. To begin our install, well first go ahead and open up the trunk, then well remove the spare tire cover. Well remove the two fasteners securing the rear threshold. With the plastic caps removed, we can then pull out and up on the rear threshold, and well release the fasteners underneath having it set aside. Next, well need to remove the four fasteners on each side to remove the rear carpeting. Once we removed the fasteners, we can then pull out on the carpeting and gain access to the taillight wiring behind it.Behind each taillight assembly will be the wiring. more
